Dietrich's supports students in the project "Hybrid CUBE"
The project goals being lean value creation chain in building construction and the transfer of knowledge in the field of BIM and digitization.
As part of their bachelor thesis, the students Alexander Musch and Steffen Hermann developed the design details of an hybrid construction system for series production on the basis of a building process patented by INOS. The technical focus has been on the static and building physics requirements of multi-storey hybrid construction.
The Hybrid CUBE is designed as a mockup to test the value chain under real conditions; from system details to project and object planning to prefabrication and assembly processes. Thanks to automated production processes and detailed 3D CAD / CAM planning, wood construction offers ideal conditions for conducting research in the field of digitization and the integration of value chains, especially from the point of view of BIM.
The "proof of concept" related to the project will be provided by way of a CUBE prototype construction, located in Biberach. The CUBE built there will then be expanded so to serve as the basis of the electric scooter fleet of the University of Biberach. The rafter construction of the roof will obtain a photovoltaic system to produce electricity for the charging of fleet.
The Hybrid CUBE concept serves as the basis for further possible construction projects in the USA.
