Timber Framers Guild
Dedicated to the art and science of timber framing
Founded in 1985, the Timber Framers Guild is a non-profit educational membership association dedicated to the craft of timber framing. We serve as a center of timber frame information and design for professionals, aficionados, and the general public.
Structural Insulated Panel Association
The Structural Insulated Panel Association (SIPA) is a non-profit trade association representing manufacturers, suppliers, dealer/distributors, design professionals, and builders committed to providing quality structural insulated panels for all segments of the construction industry. SIPA has been in existence since 1990 and has made tremendous progress in advancing energy-efficient construction with structural insulated panels.
International Log Builders' Association
Founded in 1974, the International Log Builders' Association is a worldwide organization dedicated to furthering the craft of handcrafted log building, to the advancement of log builders, and to the promotion of the highest standards of their trade.
The association writes and distributes educational materials on log construction to individuals, institutions, and industry. In addition, the association provides educational services related to the craft of log building, develop and disseminate educational material and programs related to the craft, establish operating trust funds for scholarships and educational purposes.
Bundesverband Deutscher Fertigbau e.V.
The stakeholder cogeneration of the industrial manufactures of prefabricated wood buildings
The Bundesverband Deutscher Fertigbau was founded in 1961 as stakeholder representation for the industrial manufacturers of prefabricated wood buildings throughout Germany. With its member companies, the BDF represents the medium-sized prefabrication industry in Germany. The association also operates the most state-of-the-art model house exhibitions in Europe FertighausWelt.
BuildingSMART e.V
buildingSMART: Better planning, building and operation with BIM
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is the contemporary working method for planning, creation and operation of buildings. BIM is based on active networking of all parties across the entire life cycle of a building. Clearly defined conventions are needed for the connected processes and interfaces. buildingSMART e.V. has committed to this for many years as part of the international buildingSMART movement. The independent association promotes open interfaces and, as a result, “open BIM”. It represents high quality in BIM standards and solutions that put the users and their work processes at the focus.
